Discover Sociocracy ~ the elegant and effective way to dynamically manage organisations ~ with international expert Rakesh Rak.
What is Sociocracy?
Sociocracy is an easy to learn, systematic process for facilitating group dynamics that encourages full participation, shared responsibility and greater efficiency in decision making. It is based on the idea that each of us has a valuable perspective, and that the best decisions find ways to include everyone in the process, thus drawing on the collective wisdom of the whole group. Sociocracy has been effectively utilized to run everything from international Erasmus projects, to eco-villages to an electric engineering company. Find out more here.
What will I learn?
This 2-day workshop, will give you a practical experience of implementing sociocracy. We will look at the pitfalls and common problems that occur when making collaborative decisions. We will then explore how sociocracy overcomes these issues.
You will understand why Sociocracy is so effective in helping organisations become more sustainable and dynamic, and you’ll develop transferable skills you can apply within your groups, organisations and relationships!
To make this course effective and encourage people to start using sociocracy we are encouraging groups of people to participate from NGOs, business organisations, communities, by offering a discount if three or more people participate from the same organisation.
Who can benefit:
Anybody who is tired of sitting through boring, unproductive meetings and would like to learn skills in group facilitation to no longer remain passively unhappy, but rather make a difference. It is not necessary to be formally recognized as a leader to be able to apply sociocratic facilitation to any group that you are part of.
The following people may find sociocracy of particular benefit:
- Formal and non-formal leaders in NGOs and businesses interested in obtaining optimal results from an engaged and committed team
- Community and grassroots organisers
- Participants in international Erasmus projects or other multi cultural collaborations
- Non-formal educators and social workers facilitating group processes
- Project managers
- NGO workers seeking to empower chronically vulnerable or excluded people
