The selection of didactic materials and the organization of space in Neohumanist Education reflect a respect for nature and rich, meaningful cultural expressions in order to cultivate the mind’s aesthetic sense. Natural materials like wood, clay, wool, seeds, shells and crystals are essential in order to nurture an awareness and appreciation of nature, and have different vitality compared to synthetic objects. Expressions of pseudoculture found in play, stories, and toys, which contain negative, limiting stereotypes or that may inject fear, and shame, inferiority or superiority complexes are avoided. Games and activities are designed to promote cooperation and not just competition.
